As an assignment for a course at Tufts, I gained experience with parametric and feature-based solid modeling using Autodesk Inventor. I modeled several components of a camera tripod, applying feature-building concepts as well as geometric and dimensional constraints to create CAD models. In the second phase, I assembled my components along with provided parts to build a parametrically driven tripod assembly. I also created formal engineering detail drawings for the tripod’s left leg and knob, and developed both a model and detail drawing for the center leg.
